Johnny Depp and French singer Vanessa Paradis were together for 14 years, which is something to admire when it comes to Hollywood romances. It seemed like they were going to beat the odds when, on the set of “The Rum Diary,” Depp met Amber Heard, who was cast as none other than his love interest.
Their on-screen relationship turned into the real thing, which in turn, ruined Depp’s relationship with Paradis. Heard and Depp married, but things escalated quickly, and the two entered an explosive divorce in 2017.
Eyes Wide Shut
"Eyes Wide Shut" seems to chronicle the end of the relationship between Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise. The movie is about the jealousy that infects a couple played by Tom and Nicole, but it’s hard to ignore the real-life similarities that we witness in the film.
Though their marriage didn't end right after the film, it was easy to see that the movie represented a pivotal moment in their relationship. It seems like "Eyes Wide Shut" opened up a pandora's box for the two, there's no coming back from a film about jealousy and temptation.
Snow White and the Huntsman
There was one point in history when Bella and Edward were everyone's favorite couple, even if they were fictional characters. "Twilight" fans went wild when actors Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson set the world on fire with their off-screen relationship.
Director Rupert Sanders managed to pull together an all-star cast for "Snow White and the Huntsman," but there was one actress he couldn't keep his eyes (or hands) off of. Stewart and Sanders had an affair, which led to the break up of Pattinson and Stewart amidst the rumors.
The Last Face
Though it had a star-studded cast, no one seemed to like Sean Penn's "The Last Face." It even got a 4% on Rotten Tomatoes! But that wasn't the worst tragedy to come from the film. It managed to ruin Theron and Penn's relationship. The happy couple got engaged in 2014, the same year production on the movie started.
As they proceeded in the film's production, things seemed to be less than perfect. The couple’s disputes happened so often that a year after the shooting had wrapped, they ended up breaking up.
Gone Girl
Ben Affleck is all over the place, he can't seem to get his act together, and it costs him his relationships. While he was still married to Jennifer Garner, he landed the lead role in David Fincher's "Gone Girl."
Allegedly, Affleck got too close to one of his co-stars; he asked for Emily Ratajkowski to play a focal role in the film. Affleck and Ratajkowski had some intimate moments during production, which led to Garner filing for divorce in 2017.
