Maybe Alfred Morris is one of those guys who remains content as long as the things he owns still get the job done. Or, perhaps, he’s just used to being so modest.
Although Alfred Morris is earning a fortune by playing as a running back for the Dallas Cowboys, he’s still maintaining a simple lifestyle, akin to his days before signing up with the NFL. Shockingly, Morris is still driving the 1991 Mazda 626 which he bought for only $2 during his college years. If it gets him from A to B, he can’t fathom spending money on a Ferrari to do the same job.
James Harrison – Shadyside, Estimated $1.8 Million, Estimated $1.8 Million
As an American Football linebacker, James Harrison was able to rake in millions of dollars over a period of fifteen years to live his dream of comfort and luxury. Playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers, he was able to win two Super Bowls, and was named Associated Press NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2008.
Not bad for Harrison, who has made an investment in real estate property, acquiring an estate in Shadyside that is estimated at $1.8 million. He had his mansion remodeled and customized, and it now features multiple bedrooms and baths, a fully-equipped kitchen, and many other features.
Clinton Portis – Maserati Gran Turismo, Estimated $143K
Whenever Clinton Portis feels down, perhaps all he has to do is look at his garage where his Maserati Gran Turismo is parked. It is a remnant of his glory days, when he was cheered on as a running back for the NFL for nine years.
Clinton Portis no longer plays football. He retired in 2010 and has since filed for bankruptcy. He used to have a great collection of cars, like this Maserati, and we wonder what things he’d do to change the direction of his life if given the chance to relive his opulent days.
NaVorro Bowman – San Jose, Estimated $3.1 Million
NaVorro Bowman has been playing in the NFL since 2010, but the linebacker is currently a free agent, eyeing greener pastures. He’s played mostly for the San Francisco 49ers, a span wherein he has acquired his San Jose estate, which he remodeled into a $3.1 million luxury property.
This used to be an old ancestral home that was built in the early 1950s. He turned it into a modern beauty, with a large pool fronting it and a lawn surrounded with coconut trees upon a well-maintained garden. Bowman has increased its value in such a short time!
Randy Moss – Rhode Island, Estimated $749K
Randy Moss’ acquisition of this Rhode Island property is a happy story, that ought to be an example for other football stars with millions to splurge, about the great potential to increase the value of their investment.
The former wide receiver of the San Francisco 49ers must have taken good advice from friends, with sufficient experience in handling finances, for he was able to resell his property with a jaw dropping 40% increase from its original value. His asking price for it is now at $749K, and it’s the perfect place to raise a family.
