This rock, although very big, is not actually the biggest rock that has been discovered in Zambia over the years as there is an abundance of huge, beautiful rocks in Zambia’s fields including “the Elephant.” Miners found “The Elephant,” in 2012, an emerald that weighed well over 6,225 karats. The Precious Stones of Zambia
Zambia’s soil can boast of an abundance of precious stones and the presence of these rocks in their soil has been a boon to the Zambian economy. These stones, emeralds, are actually scarcer than diamonds, hereby pushing up the demands for these amazing, beautiful green stones. Zambia, Brazil and Columbia are the places in the world where emerald are mostly found. But, one thing makes Zambian emeralds stand out, the quality and the clarity of their emeralds are unique and their colors are brighter and richer, unlike the emeralds found in the other parts of the world.
If you are lucky to get your hands on any of these emeralds from Zambia, even if it is a paltry couple of karats and not the whole of this magnificent rock, you’re bound to make heads turn and your friends’ counterparts green with envy.
